Meet the Pilates Team

Sarah Gloyer

Personal Trainer & Pilates Instructor

Sarah is a certified Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor, Level 3 Coach with a degree in Human Performance, plus a Dip. Sport and Recreation and 30 years of industry experience.

Having trained in Polestar Pilates®, STOTT PILATES® and Michael King Pilates gives Sarah a varied platform of teaching styles to apply to both her group classes and 1:1 rehabilitation and fitness sessions.

Helen Kirk

Certified Pilates and Barre Instructor


With over 18 years formal ballet training and personal fitness experience, an obvious affinity with human anatomy and movement led Helen to gain her personal trainer qualification at AUT and then go on to obtain her Pilates International Instructor qualification and then Barre Instructor qualification.


As a rehabilitation instructor Helen trains clients in sports conditioning, flexibility and core strengthening. She tailors the programs to meet the individual’s special requirements. This, combined with her expertise in Cardio Fitness and weight training, makes Helen the perfect fit for Waiheke Physio & Pilates. Helen's passion for dance also makes her a highly sough after instructor by elite dancers in Auckland.

Alexa Cridge

Principal Physiotherapist
& Pilates Instructor

Alexa qualified a the University of Birmingham, England with an Honours degree and has a background of general medical physiotherapy. Her area of special interest has always been older peoples health, enabling clients to maintain independence through any decade fo life. Alexa has studied Pilates and applies the exercise principles to her treatment of chronic pathologies with great success within the physiotherapy environment as well as in the Pilates Studio. 

Davie Toomey

Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor

David graduated from the University College Dublin with a first class honours degree in physiotherapy, his completed complete his Masters of Physiotherapy and is now undertaking a PhD.

Having played, as well as worked, with professional rugby teams, David has found Pilates to be a fantastic tool in the prevention and treatment of injuries. David comes to Waiheke after managing clinics for Peak Pilates & Physiotherapy.
